Upon her defeat Ultimecia's compression of time was thought to have been stopped, and the heroes returned home to the garden for a huge celebration party. But they were wrong the compressing time made a hole or tear between the parallel worlds of Gaia and other lands, sucking people in and making them appear through the time rift. And when it has done it's job it soon closes trapping them in a place unfamiliar to them.
With no way home they must find a way to reopen the portal and get back to their worlds, and with new monsters roaming danger is no stranger here. The headmaster of Balamb has recieved news about these new strangers arriving and has offered to help them in any way he can, along with a handful of others in different towns. There has also been rumors that Ultimecia is alive and plotting something, and unless these new faces can make her reopen the portal they will be stuck in this world forever with no way home.
So it's time to fight against new monsters, make new friends and try to get home.
