The Greek gods.
Once, long ago, they really did exist. Zeus, lord of the skies. Ares, the bloodthirsty god of war. Athena, goddess of wisdom. Artemis, goddess of the hunt. They were both feared, respected, and worshiped by the people of Ancient Greece, lending them their power, the strength to continue on. This power, however, did not last forever. After a while, the beliefs in the gods and goddesses dimmed, and eventually died off completely. Though the gods desperately tried to regain the attention of the mortals through shocking appearances and phenomenon, it was too late, the mortal world had completely forgotten them. Now they had but two goals. Remain hidden. And have children to continue their legacy. Demigods.
We predicted that the world would end in 2012.
We weren't all wrong.
It is now the start of 2011, and things have already begun to shift. Instead of the end of the world, a shift in dimensions was formed, causing parts of the old world, now known as mythology, to surface. It started in Los Angelos, with a small crack in the earth. Within a matter of hours, this crack rumbled and grew into a yawning chasm stretching all the way into sacramento. Then the forges of Hephaestus formed, causing havoc as the once-dormant volcanoes became active. Seas around New York churned violently as Atlantis shifted underneath it's depths, reborn once again. Even the gods had no idea what was going on. People would claim that they saw the dead on a boat down in the chasm. Others would begin to go missing while scuba-diving on Long Island sound. The craziest however, people would claim they've seen pedestrians walk up volcanoes and jump into them, only to return late at night. Many of the humans just think the others are lunatics and blame these problems on Shifting in the plates, or global warming. Little do they know, that a thing called the mist, is desolving. The gods are unsure what to do, but know they can't take direct action, so once again, they call upon their children. Together, immortal and demigod will work together to put back the pieces of the mist. After all, it's only so long before the mortals begin to notice Mount Olympus and Camp Half-blood.
